ExploraVision – Four teams presented their new technologies to their parents and classroom last week. The teams all finished their projects by Jan. 30, the deadline Toshiba, the company that sponsors the national contest, set for participants.

Ben and Lance created the TV Projector 5000 – a super TV that allows viewers to download games and videos.

bullet

Alex and Colleen invented Magic Hairgel, a formula made of beans, soybeans, broccoli, brussels sprouts and cabbage that cures cancer, the common cold and the flu.

bullet

Isabella and Sydney came up with the Rescue Robot 6000, which prevents ships from sinking.

Jon, Colin, Michael and Keegan  created the Indestructible Airplane, which is a plane that cannot crash or be destroyed.

The teams started brainstorming in September. In October they began working on their projects, which they completed late January. Teams research scientific principles as well as writing and drawing about their technology – future, past and present. They discuss the consequences – both positive and negative – and the breakthroughs that must happen to allow their technologies to be created.

Think about joining ExploraVision next year – it’s a great way to learn about science!
