PROCEEDINGS:

HD-CALLED TO ORDER AT 7:02PM

ADDITIONS TO ADGENDA:

-Bev Gover-concern re High School student tracking/grades/attendance/tuition.

RT-no formal tracking procedure in place-on his Superintendent agenda to create for major receiving schools;

Discussion of this issue.

PRINCIPALS REPORT

-Receipt of Destination Imagination Postcard noted;

-Act 250 Questionaire from R & K-Impact Statement: a possible 10 additional students for GIS-based on 4 or 5 lot subdivision-Ira inquired re # houses/# bedrooms.

-2 EEE Contracts need signatures: Jennifer Fontaine & Saunie Williams;

7:18PM-Pat moves to sign-IT 2^nd-GC-contracts signed;

-Judy Tiplady-Art Instructor currently at .6 FTE- voluntarily requests change to .55 FTE;

7:23PM- IT moves to Grant A Request For A Voluntary Reduction In Time To .55 FTE-BT 2^nd-GC; RT will notify George Nelson;

SB-inquired re future of this situation-RT indicated that this is a positive change.

SUMMER MEETING SCHEDULE

-26 June-RT & TW will present FTE candidates;

-Other Meeting Dates: 10 July/14 Aug/28 Aug;

-HD will be away 3^rd week of July;

-IT noted that someone needs to sign the bills;

-Pat volunteers to do this in coordination with Brenda;

7:28PM-IT moves that Pat is approved to sign the bills-BT 2^nd-GC;

-Futures Committee meets 13 June-HD unable to attend;

-21 June GIS 8^th Grade Graduation-HD will do GISB remarks.

SOME NEWS FROM IRA RE ACCEPTING STUDENTS

-Review of rules governing Joint Boards-handout distributed;

-Model Joint Board Structure presented-# seats by regulation would be:

-GIS 3=60%

-ILM 1=20%

-NH 1=20%

Ira felt that there could be governance issues; concern about benefit to GIS; students would be governed by a Consolidated Board w/board members selected from existing boards;

RT-noted (referencing Bill Reedy) that a joint board is an “easy-in/easy-out” situation but that a Union School District is a permanent entity;

HD mentioned weighted voting ie certain members would have less than 1 vote;

IT-many issues re consolidated board-need more info;

RT-what if we did nothing…if ILM/NH closed their Middle Schools…then they would have choice & could choose GIS…no new Board needed;

IT-wondered about teachers being rehired/separate contracts;

HD-what would sending schools agree to?...discussion should continue with caveats;

RT-asked if anyone could go to Futures mtg tomorrow-GI should be represented-Ira said he could make it by 7:30;

BT-what about next year?

IT-continue for another year…

RT-4 students from ILM will be arriving.

HD-we need the names of ALL graduating seniors; Certificate needs to be drafted.
