Volunteering or Being an Audience at School

Overview

We believe that when parents are involved as partners in their child's school activities and academics that the child tends to show a greater level of achievement.  It has been shown in research that parental involvement leads to higher test scores, grades, attendance, and assignment completion.  Parental involvement encourages a positive attitude and behavior from the student.  Parental support and involvement also increases graduation rates and enrollments in post-secondary institutions.  Research shows that parents of special needs students or disadvantaged children tend to perform at higher levels when parents become involved.
