School has started and the building project is working towards completion. With this we have needed to make some accommodations and organize plans to ensure the best for our kids.
Through this process there have been questions that have arisen. One concern that has been brought to administration has been the sawing of the materials. I want to make sure everyone knows that the Folsom administration and school board keep our kid’s and community's safety at the forefront of all of our decisions.
As a way to address this Wright and Morrissey brought in a health and safety inspector and Folsom administration and school board sought a second opinion of John Madigan (KD Associates),
an environmental consulting contractor. They were here on site to inspect the project and make sure we were ensuring the safety of our school. Although the inspectors both found that there was no cause for alarm and that our kids were not in harms way, we implemented additional precautionary measures to assure the protection of our kids.
Wright and Morrissey installed vacuums on their saws, our gymnasium exhaust vent has been sealed, and production is discontinued during our K-4 and 5-8 recess time.
I would like to thank the community for coming to me and expressing their concerns and working together to solve this perceived problem.
