ALBURGH, VT – July 8, 2025 – The Alburgh Board of Education is pleased to announce the unanimous appointment of Tim Francke as the new Principal of the Alburgh Community Education Center, effective July 7, 2025. Mr. Francke brings 31 years of diverse educational experience to the Mustang community, including 21 years as a school principal.

"I am incredibly excited to introduce myself to the Mustang community and embark on this new chapter," said Tim Francke. "I am deeply committed to fostering a caring and community-oriented atmosphere where every student can thrive. I look forward to collaborating with students, staff, parents, and community members to build on the strong foundation already in place at Alburgh Community Education Center."

Mr. Francke began his extensive career in education after earning his Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Northern Arizona University in 1994. For the first decade, he served as a dedicated classroom teacher in Arizona, Massachusetts, and Vermont, primarily focusing on 5th and 6th-grade math and science.

In 2004, Mr. Francke earned his Master of Arts in Educational Leadership from Castleton State College, transitioning into school administration. His leadership journey includes serving as principal in several Vermont school districts, including Montpelier, Windsor, Springfield, and most recently, the Echo Valley Community School District, where he led Washington Village School. Throughout his principalships, Mr. Francke has demonstrated a strong commitment to fostering positive school cultures, implementing effective discipline programs, managing budgets, and promoting professional development for staff. He has also been instrumental in crisis intervention and response planning, and the oversight and implementation of individualized education plans for students requiring services.

On a personal note, Mr. Francke has been married to his wife, Suzanne, for 30 years, and they have two children, Jonah and Isabelle. He currently resides in Williston, Vermont, and is eager to contribute to the vibrant Alburgh area educational community.

Mr. Francke’s professional development includes recent training in "The Science of Reading" and "Universal Design for Learning (UDL)," as well as workshops on fostering resilience and reassessing Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) systems.

The Alburgh Board of Education is confident that Mr. Francke's wealth of experience, leadership skills, and dedication to student success will be invaluable to the Alburgh Community Education Center.
